Whether you’re working through a complex clinical case or seeking to strengthen specific therapeutic skills, clinical consultation offers invaluable guidance. I provide consultation for mental health professionals who want to enrich their knowledge, refine their interventions, and feel more confident in their clinical work.
I’m a psychodynamic psychotherapist with 14 years of clinical experience, an EMDR practitioner, an ISTDP therapist, a clinical supervisor, and the founder of Rae Therapy Group. My vision for Rae Therapy Group began with a desire to create an affirming space for depth-oriented therapists committed to doing deeper, more meaningful work in Pasadena, Northeast Los Angeles, and surrounding California communities.
I provide trauma-informed, culturally sensitive care to individuals and couples across a wide range of identities and life experiences. I have expertise in supporting clients navigating the demands of the entertainment industry, as well as challenges related to relationships, sexuality, identity, grief, anxiety, depression, trauma, creative blocks, codependency, love addiction, chronic pain and illness, infertility, queer family planning, parenting, intimacy, and self-worth.
I approach my work with attunement, curiosity, warmth, intuition, and sometimes humor, while offering thoughtful challenge to foster growth. Paying close attention to both what is spoken and unspoken, and attuning to the subtle somatic cues held within your body, we caringly and safely move beneath defenses, allowing deeper emotional experiences to emerge at a pace that honors you and your goals. My work is rooted in the belief that transformation unfolds not only through insight but through the profound healing and reparative nature of a strong and genuine therapeutic relationship.
Areas of Expertise
In consultation, I support clinicians in deepening their understanding of a client’s internal world, helping to illuminate unconscious patterns, defenses, and relational dynamics as they play out between you and the client. Together, we explore attachment history, transference, countertransference, potential enactments, and loving confrontation.
I’ve spent the past 15 years devoted to both learning and teaching LGBTQ affirmative psychotherapy. In consultation, I offer education on LGBTQ history and myth, case conceptualization, queer dynamics, queer family planning and navigating fertility procedures, queer parenting, resources, and key concepts to deepen your affirmative work with queer clients.
Consultations can include information and tips on starting a private practice, marketing and networking strategies, considerations you may not have thought of, website feedback, and assistance with paperwork.
